Music for Heroes

Opera House, Winter Gardens, Blackpool - June 24th 2013

An evening of music celebrating our wonderful Armed Forces

We were honoured to be invited to perform at this amazing event which formed part of Blackpool’s Armed Forces Week. The large venue was packed with a flag-waving audience and was a very different environment from where we usually perform.

The show was opened by Derek Herbert, a Winston Churchill look-alike and compered by Tony Jo. The Band of the Kings Regiment played several times during the evening and were joined, for some numbers, by The Blackpool Music Youth Service Band. Other performers included The Irish Guard Singers, Rose-Marie and comedian Roy Walker.

It is very nice when an audience is so enthusiastic they join in.
We would love them to come to practices though - then we can improve their timing.

We were not able to take any photos during the actual performance but here is the chorus on stage, in the dark, for the sound-check before the show.

The photo below gives some idea of the enormity of he stage.

Lucky for some?
